Mike Neuenburg is the Program Supervisor for the Vehicle and Engine Technology (VET) Section in the Transportation and Climate Change Division at the Sacramento Metropolitan AQMD. He has been working in his current role for 15 years, and oversees daily activities for contracting incentive projects.
Mike has overseen more than $250 million spent towards heavy-duty vehicle and equipment incentive programs including medium/ heavy-duty truck projects, agricultural, construction, and locomotive projects covering replacements, repowers, retrofits, infrastructure, and new vehicle purchasing. More than 2/3 of the funds were spent in communities with low income or high ethnic diversity. Over 7,500 projects have been funded providing several tons of priority pollutants reduced on a daily basis, under Mike’s leadership.
Mike has participated and spoken at many light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicle and equipment workshops, and has been actively involved with the Clean Cities Coalition during his time at the District. His extensive knowledge and expertise in running incentive programs provide the backbone to successfully implement these programs, and further advance additional new programs as funding becomes available.
